Easter Sunday afternoon on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. One of the Pleasure barges that ply between Botany Bay and Haigh Plantations at that time. Does anyone remember these trips on the canal. The bridge, I think, carries the A6 over the canal. I had walked from Standish up to Red Rock and along the canal and onto Chorley, then caught the Ribble 318 service back to Standish.

A cracking walk that Barrie. I enjoyed it so much I carried on to Blackburn and bused it back from there. Amazing how you can eat the miles on the canal , it being flat and generally direct. Good watering holes on the bank at Adlington , Heapy and Wheelton too !
