An Edwardian silver presentation trowel with chased decoration and engraved King Street Baptist Church Extension Wigan. Presented To James Starr Esqr On The Occasion Of Laying A Memorial Stone October 14th 1903. Sheffield assay 1903, sponsors mark for P Ashberry & Sons.

This is Mr Starr of the bookshop & stationer's in Wallgate
As I recall it one went upstairs near Makinson's cafe

Going back to the time this trowel was used J Starr were publishers of photos (postcards) of the local area, I have 62 examples.
