I think the line can still be traced where it runs along the north side of St Paul's churchyard.

My wife was born in alfred st goose green her grandmother used to refer to this line as the wagon road,the line ran near St Pauls church and what is now Browning ave and under the Pemberton loop line [new road] and on to wigan pier
I lived just off Warrington Road, I remember what was left of the old railway line
