Thomas Worthington (1851-1918)came to the church from Lamberhead Green when in mature manhood; already prominent as a minister, leader and connexional officer.He was a visionary, a stirring orator,and a forceful personality. His name was a household word in the town and district for he was prominent in civic ansd social service. - from the Centenary history book 1930.
Richard Lee came to the church on his removal into the town and served the church, circuit and connexion; and in 1898 led in establishing the cause at Kendal Street, Wigan, with which church he remained throughout his life. Excert from Centenery History book 1930.
