Taken by my father, E.W.Woodcock on 12th May 1937. It was obviously early as they were still putting up the decorations.

This would have been the type of bus that had the number, or destination indicator, in a type of box, at the front of the bus, on the outside, and in the centre, and just below the upper deck.

I loved the old Wigan Corporation buses with their Cherry Red and White (Cream) livery.
Was the depot at Newtown ?

I don't think it's that early. The shadow cast by the man in the foreground indicates it's just gone noon. I'd guess about quarter to two.
