Does the Haddock's still live there? if I remember it was Stan who inherited the house. I worked with Stan in the sixties at the co-op, his sister also worked there too at the time.
Do you mean the Haddocks, who had the haulage company?
Does anyone know when the Packet House closed as a pub? I had relatives who lived in New Springs in the 1980s and I certainly don't remember the pub being open then.
He may well have been of that family Stan, though I don't know. The Stan I knew drove a lorry delivering goods to the local Co-op stores from the Co-op warehouse on Dorning St, his sister worked at The Emporium on Standishgate.
