There was no one around and I was sorely tempted, but the little computer in my head calculated how thin that rope was and compared that with how thin I wasn’t and the figures just didn’t add up.

Good thinking, DTease - the rope did look a little bit thin. And although you had fine dappled shade filtering through the spacious trees, it's a pity you hadn't been able to 'capture' a goshawk in flight, as well - a 1,000,000/1 chance, I guess. Nice photo.
