I wonder who used the casting vote to say the people of Wigan didnt need the Market hall anymore ? Where did people go to buy the goods shown on the Adams stall ?
Councillors at that time didnt know what they were losing when they were busy planning Wigans Bright New Future.

Always crowded in the Market Hall is how I remember it.. There was an Adams Store in Scholes that sold everything you could name from pegs to rolling pins! Fantastic photos.

I have a dvd showing the last days of the market hall and my friend Geoff Shryhane of The Wigan Observer interviews the lady working on Adams' Stall and she speaks of how people came from far and wide to buy Dolly Blues and Donkey-Stones. I believe you can watch it on youtube.
