JG- thanks for putting up the 4 photographs. The day this was filmed, I note from my diary, that the weather had been "lousy"with torrential rain,gales,sleet and had been like that during that weekend. My wife & I came back from Cyprus the night before and and was woken in the early hours (on the Wirral) by the rain.
I guess there must be about 2m depth of water passing over the bridge.
I can remember in the late 50's going through the flood water in the family car around Seven Stars and the railway bridge (we called it "The skew bridge") There used to be a 2nd hand car dealer garage just beyond it. Your photographs are a record of the floods of "yesteryear" and I hope that the EA got it right in 2008-2011 with the FAS scheme.
