Would I have gone to see a puppet show at the Little Theatre, does anyone else have a memory of puppet shows there ?

Is the theatre still standing ? You have to ask that question because much of the Old Wigan has disappeared.

The ever constant Wigan Little Theatre... It seems to have always been there through thick'n'thin....wonder if there's ever been any stage door johnnies lurking about. I can't say I have ever seen them , but I am no actress!

Iin the thirties my Dad was the projectionist there,my Mam was visiting her Aunt in the street facing,she asked my Mam to take 'our Jimmy his butties'..that was it ..my Dad was nineteen my Mam sixteen...so 'The Wigan Little Theatre' is a special place for me.

Yes, the theatre is still there, Helen. I have been in two plays there, quite a few years ago now. I don't think there are any Stage-Door Johnnies , Veronica, but I once surprised a man using the back wall as a toilet one night when I came out of the stage-door after rehearsals! I don't know who was more shocked, him or me!

Irene, that must have been a shock as there was a men's urinal on the side near the river...I suppose if he had to go - he had to go! Horrible...

I think he got quite a shock, DTease, as the theatre was apparently in total darkness until I emerged from the stage door! Veronica, I think the men's urinal was long gone.....the plays I was in were about 14 years ago. xx
