DTease, you must have spent a lot of time walking around taking these photos , recording the changes taking place in the town.

I think we should start a DTease Photograph Appreciation Society !

I knew who's photo it was right away... Its like paintings, they are unique to the painter, it's the same with a photographer's eye - won't mention the 'Q' word. Quite dramatic,a shady entry through the lens.

Don’t know if anyone recalls the lady poster who took pictures from very unusual angles , one was like she lying flat . Can’t remember her name but her work stayed in my mind . I kind of know , Mick, Rev Long ( excellent post recently). Ray and and few others . Like Dtease , they each have their style . Dave Oy has quality, my unknown had originality which stuck in my mind . I’m just grateful for all who post and Thank you is the first and best word for me.

My sentiments entirely XPat, thank god someone over a period of time has had the insight to photograph still photos of Wigan and surrounding areas, DTease: knows I like pulling his leg, but he also knows I admire him for the contribution to Wigan world that he does.

I queued up in this alley a few times to get into princess cinema bottom of the alley as a twelve year old and top of the alley with my first girlfriend who later became my first wife I took her to watch psycho thinking this would get her to cling to me and think me very macho but to this day she doesn't know that I kept my eyes shut through most of the film

The Princes's picture house is where I and some classmates in our last year at school went to one night. The first and last time I puffed on a menthol cigarette. We thought we were being grown up, I am glad I tried it - as I never did again. It also seemed a seedier picture house compared to others, even Scholes pictures was more 'elegant'. The Pavillion was even worse....we had a lot of choice in those days for watching a good film!
