I remember this January day very well. The morning was foggy and the fog had frozen and covered the trees, grass and canal surface with frost.
In the afternoon the sun came out but very low in the sky and also very red and that’s why these photographs have a reddish tinge.
It all created a scene that doesn’t happen very often.

Those hoar frosts on the trees, shrubs and vegetation brighten up the dull winter days. Magnificent photo DTease.

I imagine Raeburn's 'The Skating Minister' looking just dandy as he swaggers through those bends on his approach . . . such poise . . . such grace.
