I think this building housed the pit head baths but don't know for certain. Can anyone help?

Typical view of many old pit rucks and waste around many parts of Wigan.Very few plants grew on it but the the brown scrub grass seen on the photo. In the early 60's on a similar scene down Liverpool Rd in Hindley a man turned up in a gypsy type caravan pulled by a horse. He levelled two plots of old pit dirt and planted many types of plants which us kids helped him with.He stayed for a good few weeks and a film crew came down and he was interviewed by I think Brian Trueman. He left but came back when the plants had grown and drew them in a book.He was a botanist employed to see what would grow on this type of land.

Yes that looks like the old pit baths, the Grammar School cross-country run went this way for a while. It looked pretty much like that about 1963/4.
