I wonder what was the occupation of the gent pushing the bicycle?.

The red post box was in that spot for years and years - it was very handy there- saved walking down to the General. The Greenbox outside Smiths, I didn't realise was a post box for ages! Still a bit nervous of posting anything in it!

I was wondering about that chap wheeling his bike - could he possibly be a 'snapper'?

Obviously the 'red' postbox wouldn't have been red as colour hadn't been invented. Everybody walked around in a grainy, grey misty world, bumping into one another. The world only became colourful after colour film was invented. Everyone opened their eyes and gazed in wonder at the brightness of it all. Spec savers were alerted and bought a shop just further down the road. They examined people's eyes which they discovered were all different colours as well! It was truly amazing and to top it off a great arc of many colours shone above the Parish Church - it was a rainbow never seen before. Wigan folk rejoiced and the pubs were filled to the brim - just celebrating colour in all its glory. Bobbies had to come on the scene and keep the peace but they still wore a black uniform so they could direct the horses and carts at the top of Wigan. It was a comfort to see that they hadn't changed to colour. But traffic lights were invented in red, green and amber to show they weren't colour blind!
Oh! the miracle of colour!
That reminds me I must get some painting done whilst I can still see colour....
