Walk past here very regularly. The area is sometimes known as 'Peggy Spout.'Only discovered my Grandma had attended this school as a child, she had lived in 2 different houses in Jolley's Row as a young girl.Came across a school report when clearing out my Mum's house several years ago.

This house has 16th century origins and was know as Knowsley House on the 1831 OS map. It belonged to the Leigh Pemberton estate until 1929.
The school room was demolished some time after the school closed in 1896 and rebuilt in 1989.
The Wellings family bought the house in 1929 and Phyllis Wellings married Jack Groves and they lived here until 1989.

My nana was birn Hilda Wellings, her father was William who died in 1925. I think Phyllis was his sister.
