Cows grazing behind St John’s School, on land reclaimed after being opencast mined.
Now St John’s is being left to slowly decay. No one wants to see it demolished but no one seems to know what to do with it.

Hi Dtease, yes, sad about the school being neglected it has stood for a lot of years and deserves better. My dad went to this school 1915 - 1925 he lived almost directly opposite in Greens yard, he would not have had far to walk.

Walt, I bet your dad would be upset if he could see the state his old school is in now.
I suppose it will eventually be pulled down to make way for more unaffordable houses, but it would be nice if it could be renovated and put to another use.
