I love that tree it would make a spectacular subject on its own for a painting or drawing..
I agree Veronica. And just think: Out there sketching your chosen tree, yourself refreshed by a small flask of tea and biscuit at mid-session, the return to work until completion, and then a snoop around the engine shed before heading for home. Aye, happy is 'the enquirer'. Oh, you wouldn't be the eponymous heroine of Denis Grant King's painting 'A Lady Painting An Elm Tree', would you. Take care.
Whew,I would prefer something different to tea and biscuits, and we have not got to the engine shed yet.
I think I know what you mean, Ken; Yo ho ho, . . . . For myself? . . . It was 'sometimes' tea, a couple of fig biscuits and a cold toast butty ('a funny thing' is a cold toast butty.) for backup, on sketching trips. But for fishing trips, it was almost always, tea, and boiled ham butties laced with Spring Onion - plain bread intended for bait and being of little interest to the fish, would then be regarded as being just 'another funny thing'.
Finally looked at the painting Philip. Yes it could have been me a few years ago! Except mine would have been a watercolour - it's a lovely painting, fresh, with an intimacy about it. A painter 'intruding' on another painter! ;o)
