Frost and fog on a bleak December day near Top Lock, New Springs.

My word! DTease; monochrome now, is it. What can't you do! A very good bleak landscape scene (I like a bit of bleak), moreso with the loneliness of the downbeat horse. Thanks.

I like a bleak tune. A bit of brass to suit the north country. Holst's ' Elegy for William Morris ' would crush me if I heard a brass band play it .

Simon and Garfunkel.

Take that as a huge credit to your wonderful picture DTease

Found it, Poet!: His 'new-to-me' 'Pastoral', Opus 8.
It's second movement seems to get more air space than does the complete work, on Tube - a gradely score.
I also played a sample from his 'country dances' album, and, similarly, a jolly . . . . Thanks.

Thanks for that XPat. I’m a long time fan of Paul Simon.

' A winter's day,in a deep and dark December'Paul Simon's words say it all for this brilliant photo.

If you want to hear a brass band, seek out Pink Floyd's 'Jugband Blues' on 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'. It is probably the bleakest record ever made. Syd was well on his way by then.

Aye, intriguing piece that Jarvo, but the best brass writing that Floyd ever did was Atom Heart Mother.

Poet: Aye, totally agree with that, and it's a fascinating piece of music. Syd had departed by then and in the summer of 1970 I think Floyd lost something. However, the missing piece was soon discovered some three years later - on the dark side of the moon...Of all places.

DTease: I think what this horse needs is a good coconut matting scratch post for the posterior, just in case it has a curry.

Comment by: DTease on 1st May 2019 at 15:01

Made me laugh that John G. Do you think Mick would know where I could obtain a Coconut Matting Nappy for the horse?

Comment by: John G on 1st May 2019 at 17:19

DTease: I don't really know where you would get a nappy for a horse, but I do know one thing, (Don't ask me to change it) I've been in enough dodo.

It certainly isn't 'shy', then, the horse which chooses to scrat on coconut matting in public.
