I reckon you're right Veronica: a limited palette. And, on mentioning 'palette', he showed me that which his wife had bought for him as a present; a fairly small white plastic folding type - I suspect that he would also have used a larger white-enamelled metal folding type in his studio.

I use an old enamel plate sometimes Philip. You would love seeing the exhibition of Wildlife at Gordale - the art is magnificent and some of the artists are there painting along. It's good to meet them.
