This is another example of Bert Lowe's work.He did this in the old Mitchell Street chapel, sometime in the 1920s Bert was a partner along with his brother Fred as decorators. Another example of an illuminated scroll done by Fred is in the All Saints church in Wigan

Thanks for posting this, Fred - and for the information about Fred and Bert, and the scroll in All Saints, which I'll have to get to see.
This one looks as if it was painted straight onto the wall - so would have been lost when the chapel was demolished.
