Dismayed by the great and illustrious
I put on my boots
And climbed the stile

And suddenly halted
At the edge of the field
Struck by a vision

They're back again.
The Swallows!
Only two, but more to come

Draped in blue steel and red
Skimming roundrels on the pond
In the ripening sun.
