What a beautiful picture,one of my favourite places on the way to haigh hall.When I was a young child my dad used to take my sister and me to haigh hall nearly every sunday, I used to love going there.
Great pic and a great restoration. It was restored in 2011 with a £60,000 lottery grant.
I used to visit a friend who lives near The Windmill Field. I miss seeing it. Lovely photo with the cattle.

This would have been before 2011 John D. I can't remember the exact year but it must have been around 2000. Was 2011 not the renovation when they put the fish weather vane on top?.
DTease, I've no doubt work started before 2011 but it was on BBC News on the 13th June 2011 that work had finally been completed including replacement of the sails. It was officially "opened" the following August to coincide with Haigh Show. As a former resident of New Springs, I really appreciate your pics of Haigh, Aspull etc. I look forward to more.
