How the hell did we let this take place? We're all to blame...All of us.
Scene of many Sunday walks 'down the Douglas' from childhood onwards. There's only one feature recognisable to me and that's the Parish Church. The river was much wilder in those days and noisier, the first stop off was the Camel's Hump then a jump across the Yellow Brook to Haigh Hall. Ruined!

Walked down this road this morning to go to Tesco cash point,which I do not normally do.It was very creepy and isolated,Never again.
What a great improvement to the area when that awful blot on the landscape red and white hoarding facing the river was demolished, however did they get planning permission to do that.
A lot of folks around there are happy that Tesco is there, it's a very convenient 24 hour corner shop.
