is this anywhere near the humpback bridge phil ? .
A nice painting John.
That's just beautiful.
Whups. If you were to continue along this road you would soon arrive at The Holts Arms ('The Foot') - I'm sure that you would have graced the oche there. And there is a bridge not too far away; at the bottom of Shaley Brow. Regards.
Good rendition of Phillip's sketch especially as it is in black / white so to speak.
Maybe Whups is thinking about the one on Gores lane Philip, what do you reckon? We used to take that one at warp factor 3 in my mate's old Vauxhall Velox, just to experience the feeling of weightlessness for a couple of seconds. Shouldn't imagine we did the suspension on the old girl any favours though.
you know phil it's a pub iv,e never been in . iv,e played for bispam bowling club & the hare but never been in the foot.
Thank you Philip, Maureen and Veronica for your kind words.
The Foot was handy for a swift half before goin to the dances on a Friday night in the hall next door!
Whups. I find the fact that you haven't played darts at The Foot very surprising. But had you have done so then yon clientele at the bottom of Crank Road would have been treated to a fine exhibition of dartsmanship - a rare delight! Ozy mentions in his post, above, the humpback bridge, on Gore's Lane. This bridge isn't too far away from the humpback bridge on Shaley Brow, and as such, could also be worthy of your further consideration. However, but considering the fact that I'm not well-up on rocket launching, or ballistics, I dare say that Ozy's thrill of a lifetime, when taking Gore's Lane bridge at Warp factor 3, would compare favourably in 'thrillability' to your darting prowess. I'm glad that you've found interest in my pencil-sketch, which I must admit will be the last - from my reasonably large collection -, to be uploaded onto Wiganworld. Take care.
the 1 i was talking about is at the other end of billinge phil past the brown cow going towards the red cat .
Whups. Then you had considered Gore's Lane bridge in your initial post - and Ozy had been more than 'on the premises' in his.
