I wonder if the residents ever get fed up of people 'gawpin' at this property as its so picturesque? Perhaps that's why they have net curtains up which reminds me of Thora Hird in a TV programme twitching the curtains and spying on people! She kept sending complaint letters to the council about her neighbours because she had nothing better to do! Good actress though....
I used to pass this Mowpin Lodge regularly but no longer pass that way. I miss it.
A truly fine series of photographs these DTease. Looking back through several of your previous contributions however, snow would appear to be a prominent feature in many of the shots. Are we to assume therefore that you were in the process of checking out the Canon A1 that you found at the bottom of your stocking on that particular Christmas morning, before throwing away the receipt? I know from experience how difficult it can be trying to get your wellies on with an SLR lodged in the toe of your sock.
they could always move if the dont like gawpers.
DTease: If it was you who took the photo the lady of the house as clocked you and is on the phone to the cops, besides that long Mac that's got no buttons at the front will attract attention especially in that weather. The house though is a beautiful picture box.
I suspect it's Christmas time.
Dtease is probably remembering days gone by in his balaclava, windjammer and wellies chafing his little legs!
It's a bit hazy in my dysfunctional brain Ozy, but I believe it was New Years Day.
Feeling a trifle under the weather due to the previous night's uncontrolled alcoholic debauchery, I used my camera as an excuse to get out for some fresh air.
It could have been worse Ozy, I've spared you the ones of the pretty little Robins on the canal bank!
It's stuck in your head now isn't it Veronica? Every time you see my name on a comment this mental picture jumps into your head of a little lad in a balaclava, short pants and turned down wellies. The sad thing is I can't deny it.
As a matter of fact, I have a picture of myself dressed just like that. I keep it in a Strongbox in the local Bank along with the one that the lads took of me playing air guitar in the school showers. I'll leave to your own imagination which string I was playing.
Not sad Dtease! Far better to have been a child of the fifties I think than to be one now. We had more freedom to play proper games outside in the fresh air and the snow. Anyway little lads all dressed the same then as girls did. Pixie hoods, scotch kilts and wellies in winter - sandals and pumps in summer and cotton frocks with puff sleeves! What more could you ask for!
Look at item 5256 Dtease St Patrick's Junior Mixed School. There is a lad stood in front of Mr McDermot with his wellies turned down! God love him and he looks really smart! I am on the first row at the end with my 'puff sleeved' frock and wearing my sandals AND poppet beads around my neck! I don't think any of us were what you would call 'well off' but all looked happy and well fed!
