Where is it Andrew?

If you are walking along the canal bank from Top Lock to Haigh Hall, just as you come out from under New Springs bridge... look over to the right across the fields, you will see it on the high ground.

I was once told a story about the clock on the wall, though I can't recall it all now, something about employees - probably went forward in the morning and back at evening.

I remember it in it's entirety before the wings were demolished!

I seem to recall that the Music Advisor for Wigan S books lived here in the 1970s but I can't remember his name.

Sorry - autocorrect went nuts. Should have said Wigan Schools

Late reply...that would be John Valentine. I was mates with his youngest son David in the late 70's.

I remember going to the saw mill house when I wasn't very old- would be in the sixties . My elder sister Janet was friends with Delia and she had a sister called Phyllis. Can't remember much else but the dogs ! Lovely memories!!!

I think in that picture it looks like Delia is sat on the floor. Yes Delia loved dogs and we always had a rescue or two at the house.
