I found this photo amongst my mother's collection. It must have been handed down to her from previous generations.
Jane Lowe was a shopkeeper at 443 Warrington Road. She was born in 1838 and died in 1932.

Interesting to note she was born when Victoria was on the throne and lived through the reign of two Kings - Edward the VII and George V who died in 1936. So many changes going on in the world puts into perspective her life.

Railways would only just have replaced stage coaches when she was born and she lived into the early days of air travel and motor racing.

It was on the main road opposite to what was Kay’s butchers.
