An old postcard showing Christ Church on Parbold Hill and you can just make out the Parbold Bottle.

It's also possible to make out, what I assume to be, a woman and child, stood beneath the church tower. Perhaps they also appeared in Ron's recent photo (30361) of Jubilee Park, Ashton.

I'll have a pint of whatever Philip's drinking landlord, oh!, and another one for Philip by the way. Just put them both on my tab, no worries, my pension went up today.
See you in the Raptor shipmate.

Respect.. Ozy.

Good to see ya' back on board Ozy. Errr... bit short at moment but if you could see a fellow salty dog thru' 'till next week on that tab i'll watch ya' back lest any pirates of the negative vibe crew sneak up on ya' starboard side.

Let me know when your about to enter port shipmate. In the meantime I harbour thoughts of GW dancing in his string vest to 'Pinafore's' overture, or maybe of him tackling something more mainstream.

Ahoy there me hearty. Good ol' dependable GW, faithful to the end,....or at least as far as Appley Bridge at any rate.....How goes it with the poultry droving cobber?.. I fancy it's been a bit bleak over Belmont and Tockholes just recently has it not?....mind you, I eggspect a light dusting of snow, or the odd icicle on the end of the tincture would be mere chicken feed for an old hard boiled buccaneer who's more familiar with the perils of dodging bergs in the Southern Ocean....
Now don't go worrying about the tab me hearty, do you think I would turn my back on a fellow ancient mariner down on his luck?. Not blimmin' likely I wouldn't ...And I bring further glad tidings.....in addition to the whopping half a percent increase in my pension, I recently inherited a load of old bus tickets with half price Mc Donald's vouchers printed on the back of them...Aharrrr Jim lad, shiver me blimmin' timbers. So the Big Mac and fries are on me an' all, unless of course you prefer to nail a Chicken Mc Sandwich to the mainmast instead. Either way, I'll probably drift into The Raptor around seven bells. I'll do my utmost to be there on time, although my chronometer has been running a couple of bells slow just recently, for some unknown reason. Must weigh anchor now though Jim lad, as I have a BirdsEye frozen albatross meal for two in the oven that's been on regulo four for the past couple of days.....and all the blimmin' boards did shrink an' all,....which wasn't quite what I was. expecting.

Regards. Ozy.
