This is NOT an old photo!!

Comment by: Howard P on 27th March 2018 at 09:56

I suspect this should not be on this site.
It's just what we see everyday, what is the real point of it??

There are more and more pictures being put on the site of Trucks, Lorries etc. that have nothing to do with Wigan. and now modern photos. Surely this should go on another category?

Where does it say in the Photo-a-Day rules that only old pictures can be uploaded??? My understanding is that any pictures old or new can be submitted.

Hugh, please read this is on the Top Banner of the Album page... PHOTO A DAY is for new photos not the Album.. Note the word OLD

"Old photographs wanted to build up an online collection. Anything to do with Wigan, including walking days, street parties, school class photographs, streets, etc.

Please help, everyone has a photo album - it would be good to build up a busy, online archive of old photos."

The pic was put on to compliment all the others appertaining to the Mitchell street chapel pics that I have put on previously. There will be one more when the houses are complete. This will then complete the history of the Chapel from its inception in 1892 to its demise in 2018.If you dont like them on this site then tell me where you would like them displayed. I have put them on for interested parties to see them

Well said Wiganer.

I find it interesting to see how semi detached houses could have been squashed into the space previously occupied by the old chapel. It's a natural follow on to the other photos shown of the chapel. I don't see how families could live in them there's definitely no room to swing the proverbial cat. That's my opinion.

Spot on Veronica, and no garden space.

The builder's logo, 'covering the north west'is most appropriate.
