Liked going in there in the 1970s, good pint and good jukebox - plenty of Jim Reeves and other country music, some folks reckoned it was a rough pub, but I found every one to be okay, I reckon they got it mixed up with the All Saints Tavern a bit lower down - now that pub was rough!

My dad said Hallgate was known as The Burma Road. The Crofters, Bricklayers and All Saints Tavern.
