Do you recall the franking on envelopes stating
"There's no pier in modern Wigan"?
Have the council altered their view?
Shame really! This should be a Mecca for boaters nationwide.

I believe the buildings are owned by the Canal and river trust. The rents they were demanding for the pub and the museum were extortionate and the reason for their closures.
