Historic stuff and very interesting. The railways were very busy in those days and much more efficient. But of course, no clogged up motorways or internet. Railway stations and railways in general were tidy places then; clean platforms and not a weed in site on the permanent way.

Not at all. It was the norm in the early sixties. Pemberton Station was spotless and so was Wigan Wallgate. Lovely days.
