Just come across this photograph of Standishgate c. 1910 it shows more of Standishgate than the one I put on the site a couple of weeks ago. It is opposite where WILKOS is today.

I think its opposite Griffin,St johns church entrance on right,Royal Oak further up.???

ste, sorry you are wrong, i'ts where I said it was, check out the other photo and also the other photos of Standishgate on the site looking down from the Market place you can make out the same buildings

Ste. The Notre Dame Convent was opposite the Griffin well before 1910.
