The location of this old signal box we think was on the former Great Central St Helens Branch line just east of the present day West Coast Main Line.
This is Golborne Great Central box, east of Golborne Great Central station. The signal box opened in 1899 and closed in 1955. In 1949 the station and signal box were renamed Golborne North.

Looks a bit draughty Tony, there's no way you'd want do do 12 hour nights in that.
At least you wouldn't have to clean the windows on a Sunday though.
