Spent many a Saturday matinee watching, Ken Maynard, Buck Jones, Hopalong Cassidy, and Flash Gordon, in this picture house. One character that did frighten me to death, was the Scorpion. Late thirties. I was taken there by one of the next door's elder children.

Thank's to Sean. This is a brilliant advertisement for local entertainment during the years of the great war and the age of silent films. 100 years ago at the Palace of Platt Bridge, our ancestors would have enjoyed their trips to the pictures to see American serial, The Purple Domino, episode one, Playing With Fire, starring Lucille Love. Marvelous!
