It reminds me of Sunday School in the late 1950s when I was very small. We used to sing "Jesus bids us shine with a pure, clear light...Like a little candle burning in the night. Through the hours of darkness, so we must shine....you in your small corner, and I in mine". The memory can reduce me to tears to this day....the innocence of children in those far-off days. Does anyone else remember singing that?

I, for one, do remember singing this hymn.....Strangely enough, I found myself humming the tune a few days ago! (I no longer sing, however, I take pity on my family and friends!)

Yes, yes. This does take one back to the 50's. This was a lovely little chapel. We did have a lovely safe upbringing at St Nats where there was a great community spirit.

When I was in the choir in the 50s we used to call this room the children's chapel.

I can remember Mrs Moore taking our class in there for prayers and her kneeling at the front on the special little lectern seen in the picture. I also recall the Sermons after Walking Day on Sunday after we had 'walked' the half of the parish we didn't do on Saturday. Happy days
