This pic is Ormskirk Road,Pemberton and appears to be a carnival or some other procession. It was taken near what today is the CO-OP funeral parlour.The pic was loaned to me by Mrs Anne Benn.

There aren't many old photographs showing Pemberton but this is a cracker( Fred Ive tided it up a bit)

The houses on the right of the photo 790 - 794 Ormskirk Rd still exist, although modified. The old stone front garden wall is still there as well.

What a great photo. Like Ron says, not a lot of this sort of view of Pem, it's usually further up. Thanks for posting.My gt, gt uncle lived in Wardley St around the time this photo was taken. His mother in Law was the Landlady of the British Queen pub on the corner of wardley st and Ormskirk Rd. (If not in 1900, then a few years earlier).I wonder if any of my family are on it as my Gt Gt Grandad was living on the opposite side of the road at this time. (Where the hairdressers is today).
