The day after the accident the building was fairly secure. My parents had travelled overnight to Glasgow (prearranged) so it was left to me to try and clear as much debris from around the car for the insurers to inspect.

That's a stylish little 2 door Barrie. Did your Dad end up getting it on the road?

Sorry Barrie. I see from an earlier post [ and plates ] that it was a road goer. Neat, and not many folk can say they built the car they drive.

I suspect this car had a Fibreglass body, looking at the damage next to the RH rear lights.

I have a suspicion you suspect the wrecks a mess at at guess before being assessed Howard!!

Howard, see Item #: 29230 for details. Fibreglass resin applied in quantities for moulding the bodywork etc was potent in confined areas. Father used to take the larger pieces up onto the garden in fine weather to bond together. Small sections were done in the smithy with the doors open. It was a lovely smell!!! The damage rear was repaired professionally by insurers garage in Preston. The car was hand painted as well.

I suspect Howard may have a talent for stating the obvious.

Howard is quite correct, it is indeed a Glassfibre body!!

Hi Malcolm, Glad to see you remember the car, don't know what happened to after dad sold it to 2 young lads from Liverpool. I know they drove it away. I am fairly well thanks, follow the rest of the family. Dad was 83 when he died.(RTA)
