Me and my Aunty Doris Keefe from Bolton rd Aspull, picture taken on a Chapel outing from Dicconson lane Methodist Church, to Blackpool,
Those days of chapel outings, beetle drives , church pantos have sadly all vanished, notice the posh coat !!

Most of the chapels have disappeared as well Allan, just think how many there were around Aspull, New Springs and Whelley. The chapel you mention is looking very sorry for itself these days, badly in need of some kind of attention. Incidentally Allan, do you remember the railway station just a few yards along from the chapel the line crossed over the road here until around 1971 ish.

The last time I went past the Chapel was up for sale.

Yes Walt the chapel has been sold and is being knocked down for houses I believe. Used to go train spotting and picking coal from the line that went past the Chapel, there are some picture on here of it somewere, and a picture of my Uncle Jimmy Hilton with other gentlemen inside the Chapel

Allan, I visit an old friend of mine from time to time when we are over from North Yorkshire he lives very close to the chapel. The photo's of Dicconson Lane station are on ... Places - Aspull and if you look closely the chapel can just be made out behind the steam locomotive that's parked in the station, thanks for your pics Allan very interesting.
