It took a great lot of effort to demolish the hall didn't it, despite all the lies put around at the time that it was practically about to fall down.

Not boring Helen. It's a perfectly valid and logical question. That masonry was done by a skillful Stonemason from years gone by...worth saving, maybe it was!
