Irene in the forties it was Makinsons and emitted the aroma of freshly ground coffee as you passed
AB, We are looking at this from the Market Place entrance. opposite what used to be Woolworths. I remember Makinson's and the smell of coffee, but it was at the other end of the arcade, near Woodcock Street. It is now Thornton's Chocolates but Makinson's name is still there in mosaic on the floor in the entrance to the shop.

You are right Irene. I took it as woodcock St I went to Caffins , there was no specsavers then
Fosters and Pollys shop were both Bradleys in 1968. Anyone got a photo of this era?
