I remember this Church very well as a child. It was built of good quality brick, making it outstanding in Platt Bridge !

Is this the church that was on the corner of Dicconson St ?
It looks so different with no buildings crowding around it, must have been newly built.

Thank you for this. We could see the back of this from the back of our house in Millers Lane. They had a field & in the Walking Day weekend, which was for all 3 \Methodist chapels in Platt Bridge, they had sports. I was useless.

The Wesleyans had a Cricket Field to the rear of the Church.

Where was/is the church?

Ron - if you look on Google Earth, you can still see the front wall of the churchyard fronting Walthew Lane - on the corner of Peel Street.

That house ended up with a nice garden wall.

The cricket ground & the Sunday School originally belonged to Zion Chapel. When they ran out of money, the Wesleyans bought them. this was long before my time.
