Looking towards Crankwood and Lowton St Mary's.
The platform on the left would take you to stations going to Manchester Central, the one on the right to Lower Ince and Wigan Central.

The station opened on 1.4.1884 and closed on the 2.11.1964. Were do you find photos like this? We need this station back, but I doubt it,'ll ever happen. Theres been talk of bringing back a few stations like Carr Mill, Golborne South and Skelmersdale station, but as yet nothing has come of it. I think they should (or could) make another Bamfurlong station; would be ideal and convenient, but I suppose lack of parking would be an issue.
