I can remember walking down this road with my Gran as they were building it, I can just see her house in the top right behind the telegraph pole

I also have memories of walking down the new road with my Gran as it was nearing completion. As we joined the road from Wigan Lane we walked past a pair of old timers discussing the development. They were absolutely furious about it, for some reason. Must have been controversial at the time.
