A much more attractive and peaceful looking place than it is now. Where would scene this be in relation to St Joseph's?
The railings where the ladies are stood are st Thomas school opposite is the vine pub , st Joseph's church was on same side as pub further down
St. Joseph's Church was further down towards Wallgate, on your left as you look at the picture.
The two ladies are standing at the junction of St. Thomas St and Caroline St which runs from left to right. Anrich Vets which is virtually next door to St. Josephs now stands on the site where the Vine pub once stood.
Can somebody tell men who the landlord was in the 40.s 50,s please was it family called bridge?
If the vine inn was on the corner of Caroline st and the street that led down to the basket works it was my grand parents pub which was owned by farimonds also relatives
