Above the entrance door, in raised stone letters, was the name Estate Office, until that is, the moron who bought it back in the 70's chiselled them off. He didn't even make a good job of it.

I would have left it on Horace.
The old police station in Blackrod (about 500 yards from me) still has the old "County Constabulary" stonework on it, & it looks great.
There's even an old tobacconists shop in Blackrod too that still has the original stonework depicting it's former use.

A very nice piece of architecture: well-balanced building of historic value.
Enjoy the building for its elegance and dismiss the nasty comments.
