When was this photo taken? I remember we used to urge my Dad to drive the Austin 7 over this bridge as fast as possible. This was before they rounded off the hump- the road used to be like the pavement - and old Austin would deliver a lively bounce. My Dad did not like to do it because you could not see over the bridge when driving.

The Bridge was lowered prewar possibly mid thirties I have wondered what the iron gudgeons in the stonework below the water line were for?
