It looks like school's letting out, there were no lines of parent's vehicles then, picking up their kids.
My grandad told me that the arches on the right were for taking in deliveries, which were brought by horse and cart.
Excellent picture of a dual trolley tram system. It looks like Wigan used dual trolleys before WWI and single trolleys
after. There are multiple pictures on the internet of dual trolley trams in Havana Cuba.
My school life at Ashton secondary involved the library not just for books,but sport eg:five a side football,school events award nights,and end of year prom nights,so I've had some good times in that building and it still shows the test of time,let's hope it keeps going for many more years to come.
