Like a lot of pubs now converted into a family home

The Red Lion was a thriving pub when Kelvin (sorry, can't remember his second name). He became a vicar and is now in Everton, having first been vicar of St. Paul's in Goose Green. He read out all the names of THE HILSBOROUGH 96 at Anfield a few months ago.
my Father-in-Law used to go to the Red Lion for pie, peas and draught Guinness. Beat that if you can!!!

Eric the landlord of the Dog i'th Thatch on Standishgate went to this pub when his pub was demolished to make way for the horrible eyesore Bryan House, then this pub was demolished to make way for yet another eyesore. I can never understand why developers have to demolish architectural eye pleasing buildings and then put up featureless concrete, plastic and glass monstrosities.

It's strange that I didn't know there was a pub in Landgate until I watch a home video that this shot is taken from. Passed the area many times throughout the late 90s and I don't remember there being a red lion pub there. It must've closed a good 20 yrs ago or so. Has it been converted to a house or has the building completely gone and the land added to Macwest Motors car sales?

Kelvin was Eric's son Jim, their surname was Bolton.

Speaking of closed pubs, there's an interesting site called Closedpubs, where it lists all of the closed/demolished pubs in the country so far, by region and area. Not sure how accurate the data is but it's worth a look. Will astonish people just how many pubs have gone or closed over the years. According to statistics, four pubs are closing every day of the week.
