Sorry Garry missed this out, drive up from New springs over the canal, past Ivy Mount (used to be a pub) at the top of the hill look to the left you will see the Woochie over the fields, if you want to climb it it's behind Aspull Rugby Club.

Sorry Harry its New springs, go down Cale Lane as far as you can, turn left after the row of house and you come to the Woochie.

Sorry Harry missed this out, go over Cale Lane canal bridge, carry on the dirt track and it's there on the left. So got to be New Springs. Now if you was to carry on walking round the Woochie, you will come out at the civic hall, woods rd, now thats Aspull. It's so easy to get confused.

WIGAN BY FIRE

I will return,
when the fire burns
the Dutch Houses
on Catholic Hill.

I will walk down Scholes,
through the embers
of Christmas past.

I will last the distance:
from Hardybutts
to where the drunks sing:

my feet still have
wings...

Jarvo 2013 :)

"Wutchie", is the Wigan way of saying, "Woodshaw"
As well as Longshaw Common, Billinge, is pronounced "Lungshie"
